My name is Dr. Andi Harper and I am a Doctor of Chiropractic and a Certified Animal Chiropractor. I completed 5 years of chiropractic medical school in 2002 and immediately went on to my post-graduate education in animal chiropractic. I completed my AVCA certified program in January 2003.
With my four-legged patients I generally work with two groups. The first group is the geriatric or senior group. They usually have a hard time getting up from a seated or lying position, going up stairs and getting in the car. They are often on traditional pain medication for aches and pains, but their owners are seeking an all-natural alternative to their pet's pain management, because they want the best quality of life for them as they approach their final years.
The second group is the younger pet that plays hard or the canine athlete that competes in competitions that can be hard on the body. Their owners are concerned about preventing conditions like arthritis and the aches and pains that come with it. Preventative chiropractic care works great and is recommended about every 6 months.
Over the years I have also studied reike and cranial-sacral balancing, It is calming energy work that compliments chiropractic care perfectly and works best on senior and geriatric patients.
